Susan Sager is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group and serves as the Firm's Director of Professional Development. She focuses her practice in land use litigation, condemnation, municipal law, and real estate development, and property taxation.
Ms. Sager has litigated a wide variety of disputes including condemnation, land use, zoning, constitutional issues, and commercial and open meetings. In the area of condemnation litigation, she has represented condemnors and condemnees in many of the highest profile redevelopment projects in Southeastern Wisconsin, including Bayshore Mall and the Menomonee River Valley. She represents developers and individuals in special use permit approvals, conditional use approvals, plat approvals and developer agreement negotiations. She regularly appears before various municipal boards and administrative agencies on behalf of her clients. Her practice includes property taxation and property tax exemptions, and she frequently appears before boards of review throughout the state of Wisconsin.
Ms. Sager has extensive civil trial experience and has tried many cases to verdict. In addition to her trial practice, she has handled numerous appellate cases.
As Michael Best's Director of Professional Development, Ms. Sager assists in attorney recruitment and selection and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of associate training and development. She also oversees Orientation and Integration Programs for all new attorneys.
