Scotia Ryer is an associate in the firm's Real Estate, Environmental and Energy Department. She is involved in all areas of the firm's commercial real estate practice and has broad experience in the acquisition, financing (conventional, non-profit and governmental), sale and leasing of commercial properties. She focuses her practice on urban redevelopment, affordable housing and land use and zoning matters. As a member of the firm's Climate Change and Sustainable Development (CCSD) group, Scotia's work encompasses sustainable development, renewable energy and green building. She is designated as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) by the United States Green Building Council. Before joining Wiggin and Dana, she was an attorney in Portland, Maine, where she practiced environmental and land use law and litigation. In addition, she served as a law clerk to the Connecticut Superior Court.
Scotia graduated with a B.A. in geology and history from Northwestern University and received her J.D. with honors from Boston College Law School.
