Jessica T. Hamilton joined Ball Janik LLP in 2003. Her principal areas of practice are commercial litigation, real property litigation and environmental law.
Ms. Hamilton was born in Evanston, Illinois, but grew up in Portland, Oregon and graduated from Portland Public Schools. Ms. Hamilton is a graduate of the University of California at San Diego (B.A., Political Science and English & American Literature, 1996). Prior to law school, Ms. Hamilton was a Peace Corps Volunteer in a small village in the Russian Far East, where she taught English at the local school.
Ms. Hamilton earned her J.D. degree, with honors, in 2003 from the University of Washington School of Law. Ms. Hamilton was a member of the Moot Court Honor Board and was the Editora??in-Chief of the Pacific Rim Law & Policy Journal. She is a member of the Order of the Barristers.
An active member of the community, Ms. Hamilton is on the Board of Directors for Portland Center Stage, and is also on the Advisory Board for the Lawyer's Campaign for Equal Justice, and a co-chair of the Associate's Committee for the Campaign.
Ms. Hamilton is admitted to practice in Oregon, Washington, the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, and the U.S. Federal Court of Claims. Ms. Hamilton speaks Russian and Spanish.
