Amy Halloran is senior associate whose area of expertise lies in assisting clients in all areas of general and complex estate planning, as well as estate and trust administration. Amy helps clients maximize wealth preservation while planning for the distribution of estate assets and business interests in order to reduce estate and gift taxes. Her vast experience includes drafting all forms of trust documents including revocable trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, education trusts, generation skipping trusts, special needs trusts, qualified personal residence trusts and charitable remainder trusts. In addition to advising clients regarding lifetime giving plans, Amy also aids clients in decisions such as forming partnerships and limited liability companies.
Amy also assists trustees in managing simple or complex trust admission, including trust accounting, distribution agreements and other statutory obligations, as well as advising trustees regarding IRS filing requirements for estates and trusts.
Amy graduated with honors and received her Masters of Laws in Taxation from Golden Gate University, and earned her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she was a Semi-Finalist, Moot Court Advocate of the Year and Member, National Moot Court Competition Team. Amy is admitted to the State Bar of California and is a Member of the Sacramento Estate Planning Counsel, as well as the Sacramento County Bar Association's Probate and Estate Planning and Tax Law Sections. Amy co-chairs the Grants and Awards Committee for the Women Lawyers of Sacramento.
Amy was named Northern California Super Lawyer for 2010 and 2011 and most recently has appeared as an Expert for the Sacramento Bee's "Ask the Experts" forum on Estate Planning.
