Hallford, David Carl

William J. Russo is a 1969 graduate (B.A.) of Fordham College, Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, a 1972 graduate (M.A.) of New York University and a 1975 graduate (J.D.) of Columbia University School of Law. After graduation from law school, Mr. Russo was employed by Moses & Singer and Wormser, Kiely, Alessandroni, Hyde & McCann, prior to founding his own firm in 1980. In 1983 a predecessor firm to Russo & Burke was formed which eventually became Russo & Burke in 1988.

Mr. Russo has written and lectured widely on estate planning and administration topics and has served on the Advisory Board of Trustees for Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, New York, his alma mater. In 2000, Mr. Russo was awarded the distinction of Distinguished Alumnus of Xaverian. Mr. Russo's other achievements include appointment to the Staten Island Fast Ferry Task Force by the Hon. Guy V. Molinari, Borough President (2000); recipient of a Proclamation of the New York City Council for Distinguished Community Service (2000); appointment to the Association of the Bar of the City of New York's Committee on Small Firm Administration (1999). Mr. Russo has earned a rating of AV (the highest rating for legal ability and professional ethics) by Martindale Hubbell Peer Review Committee.

Mr. Russo is the head of the Trusts and Estates Department of the firm and is a member of the New York State Bar Association and The Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He is admitted to practice the State of New York and in the United States District Court for Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of New York.
