Daniel W. Rucker is an associate attorney of Hertz Schram, where he assists clients in the areas of commercial litigation, securities litigation, qui tam (whistleblower) claims, criminal defense and forfeiture, negligence, employment matters, and appellate practice. Mr. Rucker previously worked as an attorney-advisor for the Department of Justice in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Michigan, where he provided services related to federal civil and criminal litigation at the district court and appellate levels. Mr. Rucker’s professional experience derives also from his work with a Michigan Circuit Judge, a Michigan County Prosecutor’s Office, and a private firm specializing in mortgage banking.
Mr. Rucker obtained his Juris Doctorate from the Michigan State university College of Law, where he was a King Scholar and graduated magna cum laude. Mr. Rucker is a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was the varsity soccer captain, received a scholarship as a National Merit Scholar, and graduated summa cum laude with recognition as the top graduate in the college of history and political science. Mr. Rucker is also active in community service endeavors and has served on the boards of multiple non-profit organizations, including Church of the Nazarene congregations and an organization providing services to private, public, community, and religious organizations across the country.
Mr. Rucker is currently admitted to practice in the State of Michigan and in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.
