Kenny M. Habetz, Jr. is the newest addition to the legal team at Brandt & Sherman, LLP. Kenny was born and raised in the Rice Capital of the World, Crowley, Louisiana, where he was a 2002 graduate of Notre Dame High School. After high school, he attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree, with a concentration in Finance in 2006. While in school, Kenny worked as a field representative for former Louisiana State Senator, Nick Gautreaux.
Upon graduation, Kenny enrolled as a law student at Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During his tenure, Kenny was a member of Southern University Law Review and Phi Alpha Delta International law fraternity and received many CALI Excellence Awards for Highest Grade in the following law courses: Admiralty, Advanced Legal Writing, Civil Law Property, Civil Procedure II, Conflicts of Law, Criminal Procedure, Evidence, and Real Estate Transaction. In May 2009, Kenny earned his Juris Doctorate, graduating magna cum laude as one of the top ten students of his class.
Prior to joining Brandt & Sherman, Kenny accepted a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Judge James P. Doherty with the 27th Judicial District in Opelousas, Louisiana. While clerking, Kenny gained invaluable legal and courtroom insight through exposure to a variety of civil and criminal matters.
Kenny possesses a strong passion and desire to provide members of the community the legal services deserved by all. He is admitted to practice law before the Louisiana Supreme Court, all district courts in the State of Louisiana, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Currently, he is a member of American Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, Lafayette Bar Association Young Lawyers Association, Acadia Parish Bar Association and Phi Alpha Delta International Law Fraternity.
