Guslani, Lawrence M.

Ms. Roth is an associate in the firm's health care department. She regularly assists in advising hospitals, physicians, and other health industry organizations in a variety of regulatory and compliance matters as well as matters related to risk management, employment, and contracting. As a former Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Information Management at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Ms. Roth taught coursework in Medicare reimbursement, managed care contracting, health law, and health care delivery systems. She also served as a HIPAA Privacy Officer for a nursing and allied health faculty practice plan.

Ms. Roth is involved in legal matters related to health information exchange at both the national and state level. She co-chairs the Kansas Legal Workgroup for the Health Information Security and Privacy Collaboration (HISPC) and is President of the Kansas Health Information Management Association. Ms. Roth's nationally published work includes journal articles on HIPAA and other federal privacy law as well as textbook chapters on risk management and quality improvement, consent, and evidence.

While in law school, Ms. Roth concurrently completed a Master's degree in Health Services Administration and is a Registered Health Information Administrator.
