Amy Gullifer has experience as a litigator in bankruptcy courts, federal district courts, and state courts throughout Ohio. She has argued before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and represented consumers in several class actions. Ms. Gullifer earned her law degree at The Ohio State University in 2001. While at The Ohio State University, she received designation as a Public Interest Law Fellow. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Gullifer earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, graduating magna cum laude from Cleveland State University.
After graduating from law school, Ms. Gullifer began employment at Southeastern Ohio Legal Services in Zanesville, Ohio, where she represented low-income Ohioans in housing and family disputes. In October 2003, she joined the firm of Graham, McClelland, Ransbottom, (now Graham & Graham Co. LPA). Since October 2003, Ms. Gullifer has focused her practice on bankruptcy and consumer law, representing individuals and classes of consumers enforcing their rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, federal Truth in Lending Act, and other state consumer protection laws. Ms. Gullifer joined Minnillo & Jenkins in September 2011, where she will primarily represent consumers in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies.
In connection with her work as a consumer advocate, Ms. Gullifer is a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates, National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Advocates, and the Consumer Education Coalition. She is also a member of the Ohio and Muskingum County Bar Associations.
