Gunn, John Thomas

Mr. Gunn is the founding partner of The Gunn Firm, P.C. He has tailored his career and his firm to the exclusive practice of family law. He currently serves as the President of the Family Law section of County Bar Association and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Cobb County Bar Association. He has been appointed by the Superior Courts of Georgia as an expert in child custody matters through his work as a court appointed Guardian Ad Litem.

Georgia Trend magazine has identified Mr. Gunn as one of Georgia’s “Legal Elite” for his leadership in the family law legal community. Thomson Reuters' "Super Lawyers" has also repeatedly recognized Mr. Gunn as one of Georgia’s top Divorce and Family Law Attorneys. Super Lawyers is an independent rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high-degree of professional achievement. Mr. Gunn has been recognized in the top 2 and ½ percent of attorneys in their classification in Georgia.

Mr. Gunn is a frequent speaker at legal education seminars and has published several articles on the topics of divorce, custody, contempt and protective orders. Mr. Gunn has coached and evaluated attorneys in actual and mock trials for more than half a decade to assist other attorneys in developing trial advocacy skills. He is admitted to practice in the Superior, State, Federal District Court and Georgia Supreme Court. Mr. Gunn has co-authored a number of Georgia appellate briefs including one successfully argued before the Georgia Supreme Court.
