Jon Rosenthal earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 1997. While there he served as a member of the editorial board of the University of Miami Law Review, and as Chairman of the Law Activity Fee Allocation Committee. Also while in law school, Jon clerked for several Miami law firms, as well as for the Honorable Joseph Nesbitt of Florida's Third District Court of Appeal. Jon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the State University of New York at Albany.

Jon is a Partner and Vice President of Malman, Malman & Rosenthal, with which he has been associated since 1997. He has extensive experience in both state and federal courts in matters including federal sentencing, white collar criminal defense, appellate practice, criminal law and civil litigation. Jon has also represented clients before various administrative agencies. Jon has been awarded the coveted "AV" peer review rating by Martindale-Hubbell, widely considered the foremost authoritative resource for information on the worldwide legal profession. This is the highest rating awarded by Martindale-Hubbell, and is truly a distinction and a source of great pride.

As an Adjunct Professor of Law on the faculty of Nova Southeastern University, Jon teaches second and third year law students in matters relating to sentencing issues, the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, and criminal law. Since 2008 Jon has been a contributing author to a treatise on Federal Sentencing, Practice Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, published semi-annually by Aspen Publishers, Inc. In 2010 Jon was appointed to serve on the International Committee of the Holocaust Documentation and Education Center and Museum in Hollywood, Florida.  Jon also volunteers time serving as a judge in various mock trial and moot court competitions at both the University of Miami and Nova law schools.

In addition to his Florida admission, Jon is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey, and before the Federal District Courts for the Northern, Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the District of New Jersey, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Jon is also a member of the Spellman-Hoeveler American Inn of Court, and served as Chair of a Grievance Committee of the Florida Bar. He maintains membership in Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the American Bar Association.

In 2005 Jon had the high honor and privilege of being appointed Honorary Consul of Denmark by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II. In that capacity he has met with and hosted members of the Danish Royal Family, ministers and other Government officials. Prior to his legal career Jon held several retail management positions with the national department store Lord & Taylor. Among them were General Manager, Operations Manager, and Regional Control Manager for the Southeastern United States.
