Sanford Rosenblum is the senior partner and founder of Rosenblum, Ronan, Kessler & Sarachan. Sandy, who has nearly 40 years of experience in personal injury law, actively litigated civil and criminal cases for many years. He now focuses on preparing cases for trial, locating experts, and lending his vast experience to getting outstanding results for clients.
Sandy grew up in Cohoes, New York, and received his bachelor's degree from Union College in 1958. In 1962 he was awarded his law degree from the University of Buffalo School of Law, where he was an editor for the Buffalo Law Review.
In 1985 Sandy joined George Sarachan to form the firm Rosenblum & Sarachan. In 1988 veteran litigator Jim Ronan (1931-1995) joined the firm, and in 1991, when Mike Kessler followed, the firm Rosenblum, Ronan, Kessler & Sarachan was created—accomplishing Sandy's vision of a unique practice devoted exclusively to providing high-quality representation to people seriously injured by the fault of others.
Sandy has a long history of achieving large recoveries for clients. In the mid 1980s, for example, he obtained $4.4 million for his client, a utility worker severely injured in a gas explosion. At the time this recovery was by far the Capital Region's largest in a personal injury case. Also, by obtaining an innovative payment structure, Sandy was able to generate millions of additional dollars for his client and the client's family.
More recently, Sandy took over a medical-negligence case that had languished for more than 15 years at another law firm. After assembling a team of renowned specialists from leading medical centers around the country, Sandy helped attain one of the largest recoveries for a brain-injured child ever obtained in upstate New York. In another case, he also helped assemble and led a team of technical experts and lawyers who were able to prove that a major automobile manufacturer failed to disclose critical evidence in a product-liability case.
In addition to his legal work, Sandy has long been active in many local and national charities. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) and was recently honored as an ATLA "Stalwart." He is also a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the New York State Bar Association. Sandy is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts as well as New York.
