Truman grew up in Charleston and graduated from George Washington High School in 1996. He then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Hampden-Sydney College (Hampden-Sydney, Virginia) in 2000. In 2004, Truman earned his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law, where he served on the WVU College of Law Moot Court Board.
Truman is admitted to practice before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Kanawha County Bar Association, and the West Virginia Association for Justice. Since being admitted to the West Virginia State Bar, Truman has engaged in many aspects of civil litigation, including complex personal injury and deliberate intention matters. Truman was selected by the Super Lawyer’s publication as a legal “Rising Star” in both 2010 and 2011. Among his many interests, Truman enjoys playing golf, snow skiing, and spending time with his son, Alexander, his daughter Madison and his wife, Lindsay.
