Linda C. Roodhouse has been assisting her clients in personal tax and estate planning since 1980. In addition, she advises persons involved in settling an estate after death - surviving spouses and other family members, beneficiaries, trustees and executors. She is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trusts, and Probate, the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. She is also a founder of East Bay Trusts & Estate Lawyers and a past President of the Board of Directors.

A good estate plan protects the client and the client's beneficiaries, preserves estate assets, and minimizes expenses, both during life and at death. A good estate plan is also as flexible and as simple as possible to serve the client's objectives and needs without unnecessary "legalese" and complexity. In sensitive situations such as those involving second marriages, family businesses, and beneficiaries with special needs, creative solutions tailored to the particular situation will be required. Careful advance planning may also minimize or avoid estate and gift taxes, capital gains, generation skipping taxes, and California property taxes, and probate court supervision. Linda has had significant experience in these areas, both on the planning side before death and on the administration side after death.

In her practice, Linda regularly prepares revocable living trusts, wills, powers of attorney, prenuptial and other property agreements, as well as the documents required to fund a trust, settle a trust or probate an estate. Linda has been a panelist on continuing education programs for trusts and estate lawyers. She is a co-author of the C&B publication "Funding a Revocable Trust."
