Rebecca Grey, Owner and Founder

Since graduating from Stanford Law School, Rebecca's career has focused on representing individuals who have been mistreated by their insurance companies.  Her professional passion is guided by the outrageous, abusive conduct many insurance companies inflict upon their own vulnerable and injured insureds.  She has extensive experience in litigation on behalf of clients in disputes with their insurers arising from employer-provided and private health, life and disability insurance, long-term care insurance, as well as in disputes regarding the duty to defend, excess judgments and property casualty insurance. Rebecca manages her clients' pre-litigation negotiation, administrative appeals, pre-trial litigation, mediations, trial and appeals.

Prior to founding The Grey Law Firm, Rebecca was an associate and then a partner at Pillsbury & Levinson, LLP for 14 years.  Her notable cases include obtaining a seven-figure settlement in an ERISA case on behalf of a obstetrician/gynecologist who was disabled by a hand condition which precluded the performance of many of his most important and most lucrative occupational duties, including the delivery of babies and obstetrical surgery.  She obtained multi-million dollar settlement on behalf of a widow with no income whose husband of 30 years died suddenly while overseas.  Rebecca negotiated a favorable seven-figure settlement on behalf a victim of a fire which burned down her small ski cabin who had been falsely accused of setting the fire herself.

After getting her J.D., Rebecca was a court insider working as a Legal Research Attorney for the San Francisco Superior Court's Law & Motion and Writs & Receivers departments.  Before graduating from law school, Rebecca worked in capital appeals, criminal defense and as an intern for the Employment Law Center. Her pre-law school career included working as a Staff Investigator at the Seattle Public Defenders' office. Rebecca serves on the Board of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers' Association and volunteers with the AIDS Legal Referral Panel Pro Bono attorney panel as well as the Employment Law Center-Legal Aid Society Worker's Rights Clinic.

Rebecca has been named a Northern California SuperLawyer.

When she's not battling on behalf of her clients against multi-billion dollar corporate bullies, Rebecca likes to spend time with her husband and daughter, preferably anywhere in or near the water.
