Elmer L. Roller is Of Counsel to Hertz Schram where his primary areas of practice include commercial, labor, personal injury, civil rights and aviation litigation. His practice focuses on both corporate and individual matters in state and federal courts.
Mr. Roller received both his Undergraduate Degree and Law Degree from Wayne State University in 1966 and l973. He was recognized and received numerous awards, including one for his work on the Wayne State University Law Review.
From 1973 to 1987, Mr. Roller rose from Assistant University Attorney to University Attorney, Adjunct Professor, Acting General Counsel and Special Attorney General at Wayne State University. From 1987 to 1997, Mr. Roller was founding and senior partner of a Detroit defense and insurance law firm.
Mr. Roller is a member of the Aviation Council of the State Bar of Michigan. He served on the Litigation, Tort and Negligence, and Litigation Committees of the American Bar Association. He is a member of the Metropolitan Detroit Bar Association, Oakland County Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, United State Supreme Court Bar Association and other local bar associations.
Mr. Roller serves as a mediator, arbitrator and facilitator with various local and state agencies, has served as special counsel to major universities, school boards, the United Steel Workers, Nation Association of Allied Professionals, National Nursing Association, Detroit Medical Center, and numerous private aviation companies and venture capital corporations.
He has authored journal articles and lectured on Allied Health Professions: Defending The Health Care Team Member, Michigan No-Fault Automobile Liability developments and Trial Preparation and Tactics.
