Timothy J. Rollins, a partner with WilliamsMcCarthy LLP, is a native of Mendota, Illinois, attended the University of Illinois on a federal Army ROTC scholarship and received his B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude with departmental distinction, in 1982. He graduated from Harvard Law School, magna cum laude, in 1985, where he served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review.
Following law school, he served for over four years with the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the United States Army. He was stationed in the Pentagon and Washington, D.C., in various positions involving government contract law.
Mr. Rollins represents a variety of private companies and public agencies on general corporate matters, including corporate organization and governance issues, acquisitions and mergers, contract drafting and review, and regulatory compliance issues, as well as on law of the workplace issues, such as developing employment contracts, employee handbooks, and employment application forms, implementing employee benefit plans, handling employee discipline and terminations, and complying with the various federal and state laws regulating the employer/employee relationship.
Mr. Rollins currently serves as the Immediate Past President of the board of directors of the not-for-profit Discovery Center. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Rockford Chamber of Commerce, member of the Dean's Council of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford, on which he serves on the Executive Committee, and the Rockford Area Arts Council. He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in the Leading Lawyers Network, representing the top five percent of all attorneys in the state of Illinois, and has received an AV rating* from Martindale-Hubbell®, its highest rating for attorneys.
