Benjamin E. Grant practices primarily in the areas of real property, energy, public utility, and regulatory law representing public utility companies and electric transmission companies. In connection with such representation, Mr. Grant has assisted clients in the sale and transfer of electric transmission infrastructure and equipment as well as the assignment and licensure of appurtenant real property interests, interconnection and facility-sharing agreements and issues, federal and state regulatory and environmental liability and compliance issues, and the acquisition of necessary easement, right-of-way, fee, and other real property interests through negotiation and, when necessary, eminent domain proceedings. Mr. Grant also represents clients in various transactional real property matters, in business entity formation and governance, in landlord/tenant disputes, including lease negotiation and interpretation, rent collection, and forcible detainer, as well as in the areas of general civil litigation, creditor’s rights, appellate litigation, and wills and estate planning.
Mr. Grant received his Bachelor of Science in Sociology/Criminal Justice from Abilene Christian University and his Juris Doctorate from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. While in law school, Mr. Grant was a law clerk for a consumer bankruptcy attorney and a summer clerk for Wagstaff, Alvis, Stubbeman, Seamster, & Longacre, L.L.P.
