Steve Goodman has extensive experience briefing and arguing appeals, as well as writing amicus curiae briefs, in both state and federal courts, on a wide variety of issues. His principal substantive area of practice is in insurance law, where he has represented insureds and insurers in coverage litigation relating to first-party and liability insurance, particularly in the area of insurance for environmental liabilities, with considerable experience in the matter of insurers' liability for "bad faith" and punitive damages. He also works extensively on arbitration and the law relating to the enforceability of arbitration agreements and constitutional and other limitations on punitive damages awards.
