Cynthia Driscoll practices in the area of complex litigation, with extensive experience in nationwide toxic tort and product liability litigation. Cynthia's practice also involves environmental counseling. Given Cynthia's extensive experience in toxicology, having held research and management positions as an industrial toxicologist with Dupont and Union Carbide prior to law school, her practice focuses on issues emerging from the nexus of science and the law. Her areas of scientific specialty include the effects of chemicals and other potentially toxic agents on the nervous system, reproduction, and neurobehavioral development. In cases addressing health allegations in children and adults, she has worked with experts in a variety of disciplines, including pediatrics, toxicology, neuroscience, clinical psychology, cognitive assessment, epidemiology, statistics, risk assessment, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, oncology, radiology, pathology, and gerontology.

Cynthia represents The Sherwin-Williams Company in its lead paint and pigment litigation throughout the country. These suits involve product liability, market share liability, and public nuisance claims. She also represents Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp) in professional negligence litigation related to LabCorp's human papilloma virus (Pap smear) testing.

In her environmental counseling practice, she has defended claims arising from off-site migration of contaminants, insurance coverage issues, and environmental criminal, civil, and administrative environmental disputes concerning many major environmental statutes, including the Comprehensive Environmental, Response, Compensation and Recovery Act (CERCLA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), the Clean Air Act (CAA), and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). She also has experience advising clients on compliance matters, including Superfund, the strategic use of emission trading, brownfields redevelopment opportunities, permitting issues, and corporate transactions regarding environmental risk assessment and liability exposure issues. She has significant experience working with the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the United States Department of Justice, and state and local counterparts on issues such as unilateral orders, administrative orders on consent, negotiated administrative settlements, and private cost recovery/contribution actions.

She is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and serves on the Finance and Publications Committees of the Neurobehavioral Teratology Society. She has published in the Defense Research Institute's journal, For the Defense, and has lectured in the areas of science and the law and ethics. She is also a member of the advisory board for the University of Pittsburgh's School of Law Certificate Program in Environmental Law.
