Mr. Gombar began his legal career in the coal fields of Western Virginia where he divided his time between labor negotiation and criminal litigation as a Partner in the firm of Lemmond and Gombar.
In 1991 he joined Opinion Research Corporation as Corporate Counsel, ultimately becoming General Counsel and C.O.O. during the period that Opinion Research Corporation grew from a $10 million subsidized subsidiary of Arthur D. Little Company to a publicly traded corporation with a $250 million market capitalization.
In 2001 Mr. Gombar became General Counsel and C.O.O. of Catalyst Communications while developing a private practice specializing in Municipal Court and Corporate Law. At the beginning of 2008 Mr. Gombar joined the Rutgers University Business School and served the Rutgers Business School as Senior Associate Dean, again, the functional equivalent of C.O.O., a title which does not exist in academia. Seeking the most qualified home for his private practice Thomas Gombar has become of counsel to Kamensky ♦ Cohen & Riechelson a relationship which grew out of his admiration for the Kamensky ♦ Cohen & Riechelson attorneys he faced as adversaries.
