Jake Doleshal is partner at Kapke & Willerth, L.L.C. Prior to joining Kapke & Willerth, Jake was an associate at Rotts & Gibbs, L.L.C. in Columbia, Missouri, from 2000 to 2001. He began working at Kapke & Willerth in 2001 and immediately focused his efforts on gaining experience in trial practice and litigation. Since joining Kapke & Willerth, Jake has tried many (Several) jury trials and dozens of bench trials. Jake has had a high rate of success in the courtroom throughout his career and has recently taken some difficult cases to trial. Jake is now considered, by many attorneys in Jackson County, to be an expert in commercial and residential Landlord/Tenant law and is routinely referred disputes in this area. In addition to Landlord/Tenant law, Jake has developed significant experience in Personal Injury Litigation and Worker's Compensation Law. In addition to focusing his practice on business and commercial litigation, work comp, and personal injury representation, Jake represents client in all forms of commercial disputes from contract disputes to commercial collection/creditor's rights actions. He also has taken many depositions over the years, and has vast experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution procedures.
Education
Jake Doleshal graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2000. As a member of the first graduating class of the new millennium, Jake received valuable training in Trial Practice and Alternative Dispute Resolution. The University of Missouri-Columbia's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program is ranked number one in the nation and is on the cutting edge in that practice area. As a student, Jake took part in mock trials and mock mediations. During his law school career, Jake worked as a law clerk for The Miller Law Firm, located in Columbia, and also clerked at Rotts & Gibbs. It is with these firms that Jake developed Ms strong research and writing background. It was also during this time that Jake was first introduced to Personal Injury law and Worker's Compensation Law. Jake also became very comfortable during that period of time with reading and interpreting medical records. He had the opportunity to learn from the very experienced litigators at Rotts & Gibbs, and later assisted them with several jury trials. Prior to attending the University of Missouri, Jake attended William Jewell College, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Jake was a four year letterman on the William Jewell College football team, and twice received conference honors for offensive line. He was also a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity and remains active and involved with Sigma Nu as an alumnus. At William Jewell, Jake sought out opportunities to get a jump start on his legal education and was a co-founder and first treasurer of the Pre-Law Society. He was also one of the founding members of the Phi Alpha Delta pre-law chapter at William Jewell, as well as one of the founding members of the Mock Trial Team at that school. Jake was also a member of the Dean's List at William Jewell.
