Stephen C. Glassman has extensive experience in trial & appellate courts at both the Federal and state levels with concentrations in civil litigation related to business including partnership disputes, corporate dissolutions, shareholder actions, franchise litigation, business conflicts, divorce, professional malpractice and tort law.
A retired Navy Captain who served as an active duty and reserve member of the Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps, Mr. Glassman served in numerous command positions and as a court-martial judge. As a result, Mr. Glassman is regularly engaged in military personnel and criminal law, including a practice in the area of security clearances. This includes representation of officers and enlisted members before courts and boards. A focal point of Mr. Glassman's practice has been international, military and federal government personnel divorce law. He has written extensively in the field as well as providing lectures and educational programs for attorneys throughout the country. He is founder of the Virginia State Bar Military Law Section, the Bar's largest section.
In addition, Mr. Glassman has practiced in the field of equine law for many years. His cases have involved such matters as breeding contracts, breach of equine purchase and lease agreements and veterinary malpractice. As well, he acts as a consultant and litigation counsel in select personal injury cases, particularly those involving medical and legal malpractice. He is regularly engaged by elder law firms in probate and estate related litigation.
Mr. Glassman received a Bachelor of Arts from American University and earned his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center. He is a member in good standing with the Bars of Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, New York, U.S. Court of Military Appeals, U.S. Courts of Appeals for the District of Columbia, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th, 7th, and 9th Circuits, Federal Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, District of Maryland, Eastern District of Virginia, Western District of Virginia, Eastern District of New York, Southern District of New York, Western District of New York, Western District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Federal Claims.
