JUSTICE WITH A SOUTHERN STYLE
A Current Portrait of Attorney Lisa Reid Reeves
“As early as ten years old, it was my goal to be an attorney, which was inspired by early broadcasts of Perry Mason during that time. Today, there are numerous television shows involving attorneys, such as Law and Order, Boston Legal, Law and Order SVU. To date I am still intrigue with such shows. However, the ability to assist other people in legal matters intrigues me. The ability to ensure justice and fairness during the judicial process, whether as an attorney or as a municipal court judge, is double rewarding to me.
My office has a client relations philosophy because our clients are the most important part of my firm. My office holds the following philosophy: (1) clients are the most important people in our business, whether we are dealing with them in person or on the telephone; (2) clients are not an interruption of work, but are the purpose of our work; (3) clients favors us with their patronage and we are not doing them a favor by serving them; (4) clients are an essential part of our business and they are not outsiders; (5) clients are not cold statistic… they are human beings with feelings and emotions like our own; (6) clients are people who needs our legal services and it is our job to provide those services; and (7) clients are deserving of the most courteous and attentive treatment we can give them… client are the life blood of our business.
One of my greatest task as an attorney ensuring justice for all occurred when she, along with two (2) other Georgia attorneys, assisted the Equal Opportunity Department for the City of Phoenix, Arizona with ensuring that minority business owners received their fair share of the city’s contractual work for various city projects. This provided me with an opportunity to again ensure justice for all. It was an experience that I will always remember because of my personal involvement and encounters with the individuals who had been treated unfairly in Maricopa County, Arizona. I assisted in drafting the Ordinance for the City of Phoenix which provided those business owners with an opportunity of receiving equal treatment with business opportunities given to the majority.
My commitment and passion for the practice of law and professionalism of lawyers resulted in an appointment of which I am proud. In 1996 I was appointed by the Georgia Supreme Court to the Investigative Panel of the Disciplinary Board for the State Bar of Georgia. My responsibility was to investigate grievances filed against members of the State Bar of Georgia. Upon my completion of my investigation, I evaluated the cases carefully and made a recommendation on an appropriate level of discipline to the panel. It was a tremendous responsibility. I put forth great efforts in obtaining comprehensive information so that I can ensure fairness and the best possible recommendation to the panel. It was a task that I took very seriously.
My commitment to the legal profession and the community speaks to my ability to get the job done. Through the years of my legal career, I have consistently devoted considerable energy and many talents to my profession and society. I am committed to serving the legal profession and my clients with efficiency, fairness, professionalism and integrity. My mission statement is ‘Quality Service Guaranteed.’”
