Steve Gigot's practice focuses on all aspects of U.S. and international patent prosecution in various technical fields including the nuclear power generation, nuclear fuels and reactor fueling, automotive, heat transfer, security and safety, utility networking and medical imaging industries.
Mr. Gigot works directly with clients to strategically identify and protect innovations. His experience includes executing focused patent searches and drafting and prosecuting design and utility patent applications. In addition, Mr. Gigot has significant experience working with foreign counsel to prosecute clients' patent applications outside the United States and is proficient in preparing and prosecuting international patent filings utilizing the Patent Cooperation Treaty.
Mr. Gigot's practice also includes counseling clients with respect to enforcement and the avoidance of competitor patent portfolios. In this regard, Mr. Gigot is skilled at monitoring competitor patent activity and preparing patentability and non-infringement opinions. He also has significant experience drafting license agreements, joint development agreements, confidentiality agreements, and non-disclosure agreements. Mr. Gigot has also helped clients assess the value of intellectual property portfolios for potential mergers or acquisitions.
