K. Edward Raleigh, Eddie, works primarily in Boyle, Autry & Murphy's criminal defense and white-collar practice groups. He handles cases at all stages – from pre-arrest to appeals to collateral relief. Eddie has an in-depth approach to legal issues. He evaluates each one on an individual basis and analyzes its legal and factual strengths and weaknesses. In many cases, Eddie becomes involved prior to any charges being filed. He frequently conducts investigations for clients in an effort to prevent charges or, alternatively, to reduce the client's potential liability. In doing so, Eddie calls on his investigative experience as a Legal Intern in the New York County District Attorney's Office and as a Student Attorney at the Georgetown Law Criminal Justice Clinic.

Eddie also works with his clients to control the financial, political, and business issues associated with criminal charges. In that vein, he counsels his clients on different courses of action and explains the consequences of selecting one course over another. Ultimately, Eddie vigorously pursues his client's strategy and litigates whenever warranted by his client's interests. In that regard, Eddie has written and litigated bail motions, Habeas Corpus petitions, suppression motions, motions to dismiss, and an array of pre-trial and trial motions. Recently, in a sentencing memorandum, Eddie also challenged the application of the Guidelines arguing that in this particular case the inclusion of "relevant" but uncharged conduct violated the U.S. Constitution. Further, he advocates for alternative sentencing such as house arrest, drug treatment, and rehabilitative options.

When discussing options with his clients, Eddie also calls on his experiences outside of the law. As an undergraduate at Washington College, Eddie majored in economics and minored in political science. This knowledge allows him to guide his clients through the thicket of complicated matters associated with cases which garner media and political attention. Additionally, he spent seven summers working for a Pennsylvania municipal government. Through this hands-on experience as well as classes in local government law, he learned how things work in theory as well as in practice. Consequently, Eddie provides his clients with well-rounded and thoughtful legal advice.

Eddie tried his first case against the United States while still attending law school. For his work on that case and other criminal matters in D.C. Superior Court, Eddie won The International Academy of Trial Lawyers' Award for Distinguished Achievement in Art and Science of Advocacy. During law school, Eddie clerked for the Maryland Office of the Public Defender for Baltimore City in the Felony Trial Division and for the New York County District Attorney's Office in Trial Bureau 50. In 2011, Eddie graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center.

Prior to law school, Eddie attended Washington College and was a Captain of the Men's Swim Team, a Resident Area Director, and a Kappa Alpha Order brother. While there, he achieved dean's list grades, joined several honor societies, and graduated cum laude with a degree in Economics. In his free time, Eddie stays engaged with Washington College and spends time with friends and family.
