Martin Garcia is a shareholder with the firm. Martin, who is fluent in Spanish, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida in 1985 and his law degree, with honors, in 1989 from the University of Florida College of Law where he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Evidence. Martin is certified in Business Litigation by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education, and practices in the areas of business litigation, real estate litigation, and probate litigation representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Additionally, Martin has represented attorneys who are sued for legal malpractice throughout southwest Florida.
Martin is actively involved in bar activities and legal education. He has served as President of the Young Lawyers Section of the Sarasota County Bar Association and was on the Florida Bar’s Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors from 1996 to 2002. Martin is past chair of the Young Lawyers Division’s legal education committee and has himself lectured extensively on commercial litigation topics. From 1995 to 1999, he was a member of the Twelfth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. In 2001, Martin was one of four applicants selected by the Nominating Committee as a finalist for a Sarasota County Judgeship.
Martin has two children, Alexandra and Robert.
