Attorney Richard C. DeFrancesco is an associate at Caroselli, Beachler, McTiernan & Conboy, L.L.C. He graduated in three years from the Honors Program at the University of Maryland, College Park in 1998 with a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. He received his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law in 2001, where he was a member of the Environmental Law Journal.
Attorney DeFrancesco has focused his practice on policyholder insurance bad faith litigation, as well as complex personal and business injury litigation. He has participated in numerous mediations and arbitrations throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and has appeared before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Attorney DeFrancesco has worked on class action lawsuits on behalf of physicians against health insurance companies and health maintenance organizations over reimbursements and on behalf of dentists who were denied millions of dollars when portions of the funding due them were misappropriated to pay commissions to consultants.
Some of his most well known case work includes the case of a fifteen-year-old boy who fell down an unsecured elevator shaft at a Philadelphia public school and suffered serious injuries to his head, face and lower extremities. He also defended parents whose child died of a drug overdose after being denied drug rehabilitations despite medical authorization.
Attorney DeFrancesco is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey. He is a member of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, Vice President of his homeowners' association and a member of Pennsylvania Association or Justice.
