Ethan Davis joined Sally & Fitch LLP in 2010 after practicing at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York and at Goodwin Procter in Boston. Ethan has extensive experience litigating complex business, corporate, and partnership disputes. Ethan has brought and defended numerous cases in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts and New York on behalf of a wide variety of clients that include Fortune 500 companies, multinational banks, investment advisers, Big Four accounting firms, as well as much smaller companies, universities, start-ups, and individual litigants. Ethan has successfully represented clients in matters including breaches of contract, breaches of fiduciary duty, construction and real estate disputes, corporate freeze outs, breaches of non-compete agreements, whistleblower claims, employment discrimination claims, and appellate matters.

In addition to his private practice background, Ethan also has extensive experience clerking in Federal Court. Ethan first served as a law clerk to the Hon. Denny Chin in the United States District Court for Southern District of New York in 2003-2004. When Judge Chin was elevated to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in 2010, Ethan returned to New York to clerk and assist Judge Chin with the transition from the Southern District of New York to the Second Circuit.

In 2011 and 2012, Ethan was named a “Rising Star” in the “Massachusetts Super Lawyer” list published by the Thomson Reuters rating service in Boston Magazine. The Rising Star award is limited to 2.5% of lawyers in Massachusetts under the age of 40 who have been practicing for less than 10 years.

Ethan is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University (B.A., 1995) and Fordham University School of Law (J.D., 2002) where he graduated cum laude and was elected to the Order of the Coif. While at Fordham, Ethan was a member of the Fordham Law Review and served as a teaching assistant for two years in the legal writing and research program.

Prior to attending law school, Ethan worked for three years as an investigator of police misconduct for the New York City Civilian Complaint Review Board, where he investigated complaints of excessive force, abuse of authority, and discourtesy against members of the New York City Police Department.
 
Ethan is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New York, and is also admitted in Federal District Court in the District of Massachusetts and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
