Joyce Davis has been an attorney in both the public and private sectors since 1984. For eleven years, she practiced at the law firm of Morrison, Mahoney & Miller, LLP, one of the largest insurance firms in New England, where she specialized in workers' compensation and insurance regulation. She also served as a Massachusetts Assistant Attorney General, Counsel to the State Rating Bureau at the Massachusetts Division of Insurance and Law Clerk to the Honorable Harriett R. Taylor of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

Ms. Davis is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin (Madison) and Northeastern University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the U.S. Court of Appeals, First Circuit. Ms. Davis has made presentations regarding workers' compensation to the Employment Law Section of the Massachusetts Bar Association and recently moderated three panels dealing with workers' compensation basics, updates in workers' compensation law and return to work issues. She has also written a number of articles for The Standard, a publication of the insurance industry in Massachusetts. Before entering law school, Ms. Davis received a Masters degree in learning disabilities from Lesley College and taught in the Amherst Public Schools.
