PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION
Craig received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from Abilene Christian University in 1970. He then attended Baylor Dental College in Dallas, Texas for three years before deciding to pursue a legal education. He received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from the University of Texas School of Law in 1977.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Craig began his legal career in 1978 when he joined the firm of Wellborn & Houston in Henderson, Texas. He worked as an associate of Rex Houston preparing and trying personal injury lawsuits. After serving as a partner in several other law firms, Craig established the Law Office of Craig Daugherty in 1992 in Tyler, Texas, where he specializes in personal injury litigation and commercial litigation.
Craig took has Board examinations in 1984 and became Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in Personal Injury Trial Law and also in Civil Trial Law. This certification by a division of the State Bar of Texas indicates that he possesses special competence in these fields of law practice.
Craig has been invited to lecture on personal injury and commercial law topics by a number of Texas local bar associations, the University of Texas at Tyler and Tyler Junior College. Craig is a member of the Smith County Bar Association, the East Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
PERSONAL BACKGROUND AND INTERESTS
Craig is married and has two children and four grandchildren. He is a member of Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler and sits on the board of several foreign mission organizations. His hobby activities include sports car racing and bicycling.
