Jane Freeman joined the firm in October 1999. She holds a B.A. (1972, cum laude, in American History) from Goucher College and a J.D. (1976) from the University of Connecticut Law School. She is admitted to practice in the Connecticut state courts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
Jane is the chair of the firm's Land Use Practice Group. She represents developers and community groups and regularly appears before municipal land use boards on planning, zoning and wetlands applications. She also serves as legal counsel in trials and appeals relating to these issues. Jane is a long-time member of Connecticut Bar Association’s Planning & Zoning Executive Committee and lectures on land use topics to attorneys, developers, municipal officials and other land professionals.
Jane also advises clients in the areas of trusts and estates; estate settlement; estate planning; and conservatorships.
Since 1990, Jane has served as an Attorney Trial Referee for the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch. She also serves on the Chairman’s Council of the Stamford Symphony Orchestra.
