I grew up locally in Utah. After graduating from Utah Valley University, I attended Law School in San Diego at California Western School of Law. I chose California Western because of the criminal emphasis the school offers.

While in San Diego I worked for the California Innocence Project for Southern California. Thereafter, I transferred to the Alternate Public Defender for San Diego County. There I worked with seasoned attorneys and learned a great deal about criminal representation including valuable trial experience. I worked on everything from simple school truancy cases to serious felonies, misdemeanors, DUI, drug possession, assault, gang related crimes, murder, and capital cases.

I moved from California to Utah in 2005. Immediately I started work at the Public Defender's Office in Utah County. I worked again with dedicated attorneys on felony and misdemeanor trials, suppression motions, search warrants, police checkpoints, sentencing, and other criminal cases. My focus quickly became challenging illegal search and seizure under the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and also Article I Section 14 of the Utah Constitution.

I was pleased to join Esplin | Weight, a premier Utah Criminal Defense firm in 2007. My practice consists of primarily Criminal Defense Law, and a large portion of that includes DUI cases involving both drugs and alcohol. This firm is a perfect fit for me as criminal defense is my passion. I serve clients along the Wasatch Front and throughout the entire state of Utah including Logan, Salt Lake City (and all surrounding areas), Tooele, Park City, Heber, Orem, Provo, Lehi, American Fork, Spanish Fork, Nephi, Vernal, Duchesne, Price, Manti, Moab, Cedar City, St. George, Kanab, Monticello, and all areas in between. My practice takes me around the state.

When representing a client, my objective is to give the client the best possible representation through my knowledge and skill, which will ensure the client's Constitutional Rights are upheld and not violated by government.
