Lee Cullen is a senior partner and founding member of the firm. After serving as the law clerk for the Chief Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, he began practice in the private sector, and has practiced in many areas of law, including energy and utilities, business and labor, and governmental relations and public policy.
He has represented clients in numerous projects and transactions involving power supply and transmission, wind generation and other forms of renewable energy, and energy efficiency and conservation. He has practiced extensively before the Wisconsin courts and regulatory agencies such as the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin and the Federal Energy Regulation Commission.
He has been active in developing state legislation and other policy initiatives related to electric generation and transmission, and renewable energy and energy efficiency. He was appointed by the Governor of Wisconsin to chair the Governor's Task Force on Energy Efficiency and Renewables. The Task Force presented to the Governor a number of bipartisan, consensus proposals that increased renewable-energy usage and energy efficiency in Wisconsin and passed the Wisconsin legislative by a wide margin.
Lee Cullen and Cullen Weston Pines & Bach have received from Martindale-Hubbell the highest available rating for legal ability and professional ethics (the AV rating). Mr. Cullen has consistently been on various lists of the best lawyers in Madison, Wisconsin and the State of Wisconsin.
Mr. Cullen received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School after receiving a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame and a graduate degree from Yale University.
