I am an experienced litigator who provides effective and cost-efficient solutions to clients in all types of business disputes and personal injury matters. Client service comes first. I establish close working relationships with my clients and use organization, preparation, focus, attention to detail, and diligence to achieve success in reaching client goals and adding value to the client’s business. I primarily represent businesses in oil and gas litigation, breach of contract claims and other general business disputes (including contract interference and fraud claims), personal injury defense, employment matters (non-compete agreements; defense of wrongful termination and discrimination claims), real estate litigation, and insurance and indemnity matters. I also have significant experience in negotiating commercial leases for clients.
I am a native Houstonian and believe giving back to the legal community here is important: I served as Chair of the Houston Bar Association’s Litigation Section and have provided pro bono legal services and volunteered time at a legal aid program for low-income citizens. Before joining the firm, I served as a law clerk for Hon. Nancy K. Johnson, a federal magistrate judge in Houston. In my time off, I enjoy swimming, biking, music, and spending time with family and friends.

COMMERCIAL/BUSINESS LITIGATION
- Defended well operator in multi-million dollar dispute with drilling contractor arising out of drilling operations in the Marcellus Shale formation. Settled on favorable terms.
- Defended environmental company in suit alleging negligence and deceptive acts. Settled on favorable terms.
- Defending drill pipe supplier in suit brought by well owner and operator alleging negligence and products liability.
PERSONAL INJURY DEFENSE
- Defended utility company in premises liability suit in which the plaintiff was severely injured when a rebar cage on a job site collapsed and trapped the plaintiff underneath. Obtained full summary judgment for our client.
- Defended transportation company in premises liability lawsuit in which the plaintiff alleged permanent nerve damage resulting from accident at client’s warehouse. Settled on favorable terms.
EMPLOYMENT
- Defended employer in suit brought by ex-employee alleging unpaid overtime compensation. Settled on favorable terms.
- Defended major oil company against disability discrimination lawsuit. Obtained a partial summary judgment for our client and, shortly thereafter, the case was settled on favorable terms.
- Defended Texas hospice against claims brought by former employee asserting discrimination and retaliation claims and violation of the Texas Occupations Code. Obtained full summary judgment for our client.
- Successfully secured injunctions against former employees who violated non-compete and non-solicitation agreements. These injunctions prevented the former employees from taking actions detrimental to our client’s interests and safeguarded the client’s confidential and proprietary information, goodwill, and business relationships.
REAL ESTATE
- Defended Texas landowner against claims of fraud, negligence, and deceptive practices in connection with real estate sale. The lawsuit involved over ten defendants. After a few key depositions, the case settled on terms favorable for our client.
- Defended utility company in suit alleging breach of commercial lease agreement. Settled on favorable terms.
