Mr. Peterson leads the litigation side of the firm's capital recovery practice. He represents banks, finance companies, closely held firms, entrepreneurs, executives, and individual investors in complex business disputes and situations involving troubled assets, workouts, litigation, and commercial bankruptcy cases. He also has extensive experience counseling corporate officers and directors regarding issues of personal liability and legal means of reducing or eliminating personal exposure. His experience includes representations of large financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies, official creditor and bondholder committees, lenders, bankruptcy trustees, real estate developers, hospitals, new media companies, and individual investors.
Prior to relocating to St. Louis from California, the publishers of Los Angeles Magazine named Mr. Peterson a Super Lawyer, Rising Star each year from 2005 through 2009. He was featured on the cover of Los Angeles Lawyer magazine in December, 2007 in connection with director and officer defense work. During law school, Mr. Peterson served a student clerkship with the Honorable Henry J. Boroff, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Massachusetts. Prior to his legal career, he worked in the White House Office of Political Affairs, as a lead legislative committee consultant, and served in the offices of various state and federal elected officials.
