Lee was born in Goldsboro, N.C., on July 13, 1982 and grew up in Charlotte, N.C. He attended East Carolina University where he was a Dean’s List student and received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing in 2004.
He graduated from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., in 2008 and passed the North Carolina Bar Examination in the summer of 2008. In the summers of 2006 and 2007, Lee served as a summer associate with White & Allen, P.A. While in law school, Lee was an Honor Court Justice and an International Law Scholar of Merit in the fall of 2007.
Lee is licensed to practice before all state courts in North Carolina and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. His practice is concentrated in the areas of civil litigation, criminal defense, domestic matters, juvenile law and employment law for both employers and employees.
Lee is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and Litigation section, the American Bar Association, Lenoir County Bar Association and currently serves as President of the Eight Judicial District Bar Association. He is also a volunteer judge for the Lenoir and Greene Counties Teen Court program and a graduate of the 2011 Leadership Lenoir program.
Lee participated in Boy Scouting for several years and received his Eagle Scout award in 2000. He has been a member of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy since 2004. Lee’s interests include live music, cooking and sports, especially the East Carolina University Pirates.
