Jeff joined Gunderson, Palmer, Nelson & Ashmore, LLP in 2007 after completing a one-year clerkship with the United States District Court in Rapid City. During his clerkship, Jeff served as a Pro Se Law Clerk to Chief Judge Karen E. Schreier and as a Law Clerk to Senior Judge Andrew W. Bogue. Jeff is primarily a defense attorney, and he is experienced in civil litigation as well as felony criminal defense in both state and federal court.
Jeff graduated from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 2006. While in law school, he completed a summer externship with the Land Tenure Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and served on the Board of Editors of the South Dakota Law Review.
Jeff earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before he attended law school, Jeff worked in retail management for several years in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Jeff is a member of the State Bar of South Dakota, the State Bar of Minnesota and the Pennington County Bar Association. He is the 7th Circuit Representative to the Young Lawyer's Division of the state bar. Jeff was born and raised in Northern Minnesota. He enjoys traveling, hiking, skiing, and biking. Jeff also coached the Vermillion High School Debate team to consecutive state championships in 2005 and 2006 and remains active as a high school debate judge.
