Domingo Paoli Carias
concentrates his legal practice in corporate law. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, maritime, foreign investment law, public credit law, tax law matters, foreign exchange laws, capital markets and financial transactions. As part of his practice, Mr. Paoli works as a transactional lawyer representing local as well as international clients. He has also represented the
Republic of Venezuela in various international matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Paoli Carias was founding and administrative partner at Despacho de Abogados Miembros Ruden McClosky, Smith, Schuster & Russell, S.C,
Caracas office. Mr. Paoli Carias worked at the BecoBlohm Organization in Venezuela, at O'Neil, Eichin, Miller & Breckinridge law firm in New Orleans and was founding partner at Perez-Luna, Paoli, Planchart & Asociados in
Caracas.
Mr. Paoli Carias is an active member of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Venezuelan and American Chamber of Commerce (VenAmCham) and the International Bar Association. He has been a Professor of Law in Maritime Law at the graduate level since 1996 at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. Mr. Paoli Carias is fluent in Spanish and English.
Mr. Paoli Carias is a member of the Venezuela Bar. He received his
LL.M Master in Admiralty from Tulane University Law School and
his PIL certificate from
Harvard University Law School in 1992. Mr. Paoli Carias earned his Juris Doctor from the Universidad Santa Maria in
Venezuela in 1989.
