MIKE FARHI AND EMPLOYMENT LAW
In addition to having over 30 years’ experience assisting small to medium sized businesses, Mike has successfully both defended and prosecuted claims of discrimination (sex, age, ancestry, race, national origin, nationality, marital status and physical or mental disability). He negotiates with unions, drafts severance, employment and non-compete agreements and handles wage and hour, unemployment and other administrative claims. He writes personnel policies and advises his clients on employee relations. In addition, he advises other attorneys representing public entities in handling those issues.
Much of that experience has come from having represented Borough of Paramus Blue & White Collar employees, Township of Wayne Blue Collar employees and Leonia teachers in labor-management matters. Other experience includes Mike’s numerous appearances before governmental agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights, the New York Division of Human Rights and the Divisions on Unemployment in both states.
MIKE FARHI AND BUSINESS LITIGATION
In the fast paced and competitive world of business, profits and growth is what creates success. But disputes will arise, with competitors, customers, vendors, business partners, insurance companies and employees, that can hurt business. A contract that’s broken, a customer list that’s stolen, a non-compete agreement that’s ignored, can all cost money. When a problem can't be solved between business people, Mike Farhi can help. He takes the time to understand your business and how to aggressively protect it. Over his 30 plus years, Mike has acquired the knowledge, experience and resources to explore options and devise strategies to resolve business disputes, in or out of court. Using that background and his recognized reputation in the legal community, he handles breach of contract claims, business transactions that have "gone bad," insurance coverage disputes, intellectual property misappropriation claims and partnership disputes.
His advice will be based on the details of the dispute, your resources, your time, your tolerance for risk and your personal goals. If necessary, he will pursue your case aggressively. However, if he can satisfactorily resolve the dispute quickly and cost-effectively through negotiations, mediation or arbitration, Mike will do so.
