A founding partner of the firm Owens & Crandall, PLLC, Mr. Owens has specialized in plaintiff's personal injury, including products liability and medical and legal malpractice, insurance bad faith, employment and general civil litigation. Mr. Owens was recently co-lead counsel in a medical malpractice case in Eastern Idaho that resulted in a $7.5 million verdict-one of the largest medical malpractice verdicts in Idaho.

Mr. Owens has over 35 years of trial experience in Idaho, Washington and California. He has tried jury cases in over 15 jurisdictions, including courts in Idaho, Washington and California. He is licensed to practice in the State and Federal courts of Idaho and Washington and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. He has been certified as a Civil Trial Specialist since 1995 by the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Owens has been included in the publication "The Best Lawyers in America"continuously since 1993 and selected in the 2009 & 2010 editions of Super Lawyers. He is AV preeminent-rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Owens graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor degree in economics. He then obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Arizona State University. He has been practicing law in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene since 1973.

Mr. Owens has served as the President of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association, President of the Idaho Law Foundation, a delegate to the American Association of Justice and Lawyer Representative for the United States District Court for the District of Idaho. He is a current member of the Idaho and Washington Bar Associations and a past member of the Federal Bar Association. He has also served on numerous other professional and community associations as a board member and/or officer. He and his wife, Judi, have six grown children.
