Kayla Owens is an associate at the firm’s Los Angeles office. She received her Juris Doctorate from Louisiana State University Law School in 2001 and is admitted to the Indiana Bar (2001) and the California Bar (2002). She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Tulane University in New Orleans.
Ms. Owens’ practice involves a wide range of customs and international trade issues, such as tariff classification, valuation, country of origin and marking rules; intellectual property rights protection and enforcement; trade compliance; seizures, forfeitures, penalties and audits; antidumping; and import requirements administered by other federal agencies (e.g. the Food and Drug Administration). She handles administrative cases and federal litigation.
Ms. Owens is admitted to the bar of U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, and the Court of International Trade. She is also a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Customs Law Committee.
