Stuart joined Berton N. Ring, P.C. as a law clerk in 2010, and since then has written or drafted over two hundred (200) pleadings and substantive motions in areas including fraud, civil rights, constitutional claims, eviction and foreclosure defense, and personal injury cases. He has written or co-written briefs for eight appeals, including the winning briefs in the recently published case of CitiMortgage v. Cotton (2012). Stuart has served as “second chair” for several trials and arbitrations, including fraud cases such as Fletcher v. Faison. Stuart also has experience in pre-trial work, including lay and expert witness preparation, pre-suit litigation and summary judgment motions, discovery and evidentiary issues, eviction defense, fraud claims, drafting oral arguments, and deposition preparation.
Prior to his work at Berton N. Ring, P.C., Stuart’s experience included work in both private practice and government, as both a Legislative Aide for Del. Sandy Rosenberg (D-Dist. 41) in the Maryland General Assembly (2008), and as a Student Lobbyist for the Maryland Independent Colleges and Universities Association (2005-2009). A member of both the American Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association, Stuart lives in Evanston with the love of his life, his beautiful wife Ashley.
