Sharon Roberts Edwards was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on January 6, 1962, and received her undergraduate B.A. degree in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1984. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and was a Johnston scholar. Mrs. Edwards received her law degree with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1987. She was a Kenan scholar and member of the Order of the Coif as well as the Holderness Moot Court.
Mrs. Edwards has served as vice president and president of the Pitt County Bar Association and is currently a member of the American Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association, North Carolina State Bar, The Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Pitt County Bar Association. Mrs. Edwards was admitted to the Bar in 1987 and has also been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit.
Mrs. Edwards currently serves on the Bench to Bar Liaison Committee for the North Carolina Bar Association. She has served on the Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors and is a member and teaches Sunday School at Oakmont Baptist Church.
