Kimberly Chehardy is an associate in the Securities Department, and a member of the Securities Litigation and Enforcement Practice Group. She joined the firm in 2009.
Practice
Ms. Chehardy's practice focuses on securities enforcement and regulatory matters, including internal corporate investigations, securities regulatory investigations, examinations and actions, and Congressional inquiries. She has represented financial institutions under investigation by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice and the US Congress in a variety of matters.
Ms. Chehardy's recent matters have included representation of a global financial institution in connection with congressional investigations into the causes of the 2008 financial crisis. Ms. Chehardy also conducted due diligence on an acquisition target for issues potentially implicating the Foreign Corrupt Practice Act on behalf of a public company.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Chehardy was a legal fellow for the National Advocates for Pregnant Women, a non-profit based in New York that advocates for women's reproductive rights. While in law school, Ms. Chehardy completed a clerkship with the Windsor County Vermont public defenders. She also interned with the South Royalton Legal Clinic in South Royalton, Vermont, where she focused on immigration law.
From 2000 through 2004, Ms. Chehardy served as a US naval officer onboard the USS Anzio (CG-68) and USS Chancellorsville (CG-62). From 2004-2006, Ms. Chehardy served as the deputy director of operations for the Iceland Defense Force, a US military joint command, in Keflavik, Iceland.

Ms. Chehardy is a member of the New York City Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
