David Chen has experience working on a broad range of transactional matters, including lending, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, intellectual property licensing, and outsourcing.
David has been active in a variety of Asian client matters. Recently he assisted in the acquisition of U.S. assets by a major Japanese company; patent licensing with Chinese, Japanese, and Taiwanese electronic manufacturers; and management service outsourcing to Indian providers. David also has worked in Jones Day's Tokyo Office where he was involved in mergers and acquisitions and licensing matters.
During law school, David wrote a seminar research paper comparing the laws and legal precedents governing the poison pill antitakeover defense in the U.S. and Japan in the wake of the landmark Bull-Dog Sauce case.
