Roberta A. Chambers, a Trenton, Missouri native, graduated from Trenton High School and attended Highland Junior College in Highland, Kansas. She became a full-time mother, an administrative assistant, a professional photographer, and business owner before returning to college in 1986.
Roberta attended Drake University and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1988 and her Master’s Degree in Taxation in 1989. Roberta became a Certified Public Accountant in 1989 and received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Drake Law School in 1991. While attending law school, Roberta was an Adjunct Professor of Accounting, teaching undergraduate and master’s level courses in taxation. She worked in the Drake Small Business Development Center and assisted several new businesses in the Des Moines area.
After graduation, Roberta opened her private law office in Corydon, Iowa. She worked as a sole practitioner until 2006, when her daughter, Dusti, joined her practice. They have worked together as one of the only mother-daughter legal teams in Iowa.
Roberta is licensed to practice in the State of Iowa, United States District Court in the Southern District of Iowa, Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Iowa, and in the United States Tax Court. Roberta is a certified family law mediator, and in 2001 earned the Iowa State Bar Association’s Pro Bono Attorney Award for her work assisting indigent clients. She is a member of the Wayne County Bar Association, District 5B Bar Association, Iowa State Bar Association, and American Bar Association.
Roberta’s passion is Family Law. She is well known for her no-nonsense approach to the area of law that deals with family related issues. She is a strong and forceful advocate for her clients when they are confronted with all areas of domestic relations, including but not limited to, dissolution of marriage, child abuse, spousal abuse, adoption, property settlement, child support, and spousal support.
Outside the office, Roberta enjoys being with her family, and her bulldog, Oliver. Her hobbies are cooking, photography, camping and fishing.
