Eaves, Michael R.

Mr. Chaffin is a partner in the Commercial Litigation Department and the managing partner of the Boston office.  He has over 25 years of complex litigation experience.  He has represented major pharmaceutical, national defense, financial services, telecommunications, high technology, and retail companies in real estate, intellectual property, employment, environmental, and contract/business-tort matters, among others.

Mr. Chaffin received his B.A., cum laude, from Amherst College in 1979 and his J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 1983.  Mr. Chaffin was an editor of the Duke Law Journal.  From 1983-86, Mr. Chaffin was associated with Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York City.  Before joining White and Williams in 2009, he was a name partner in a litigation boutique firm in Boston.  Licensed to practice in  New York and Massachusetts, Mr. Chaffin also is a member of the bars of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York and the District of Massachusetts.  Mr. Chaffin has been AV rated by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system.
