Mr. Gottbetter's practice focuses on close corporation transactions, real estate, trusts and estates and related tax and accounting issues.
Mr. Gottbetter graduated from New York University Law School with a J.D. in 1955. He received his B.B.A. in accounting from Baruch College, School of Business in 1953.
After passing the Bar exam he was drafted into the US Army where he served in the Army Audit Agency in Chicago and later in Frankfurt, Germany until 1957. Upon discharge he was admitted to practice law in the State of New York. Mr. Gottbetter worked in his father's accounting and law firm and took over the practice in late 1959 upon his father's untimely death. He became a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York in 1959. Mr. Gottbetter sold his accounting practice at the end of 2002 to his partner, Michael Conte.
Mr. Gottbetter is admitted to practice in New York and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Mr. Gottbetter has practiced accounting and law for over 50 years in New York City.
