Tyler R. Goucher is an associate patent attorney with K&M who counsels in all areas of patent, trademark and copyright prosecution as wells as intellectual property licensing and litigation.
In 2005 Mr. Goucher received his juris doctor degree from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. While attending the S.J. Quinney College of Law, he completed the chemistry requirements to sit for the Patent Bar and is now registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as well as the courts of Utah and the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah. Mr. Goucher also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Weber State University, where he graduated in 2001.
Prior to joining K&M, Mr. Goucher was a partner in Marker & Goucher PC, a general practice law firm. There, he gained valuable trial experience as lead counsel in both civil and criminal cases including numerous jury trials.
Before attending law school Mr. Goucher owned and operated two businesses in northern Utah related to whitewater kayaking, canoeing and rafting. As a small business owner, Mr. Goucher worked with attorneys and engineers in designing, patenting and licensing technology for the whitewater kayaking industry.
When not at work, Mr. Goucher enjoys kayaking, climbing, mountain biking and skiing. He lives in Park City, Utah with his wife and two daughters.
